Anne Vegter Presents the Seasonal Anthology Herfst

In the collection, constellations are compared to stamping horses, one poet wants to transform into a wooden chair, and another writes a poetic prescription for the autumn blues. “The poet as a doctor—why not?” says Vegter.

Anne Vegter was the first female Poet Laureate of the Netherlands from 2013 to 2017 and later served as City Poet of Rotterdam (2021). She has received numerous awards for her diverse body of work in children’s literature, theater, and poetry, including the Woutertje Pieterse Prize and the Ida Gerhardt Poetry Prize. Her latest poetry collection, Projectmedewerkers, was published in early 2026.

Park Anthologies

Each season, Stichting het Park publishes a free poetry anthology in collaboration with the Veerhuis. With a print run of 3,000 free copies, Stichting het Park brings poetry to all residents of Rotterdam.

The Park Foundation manages the Park, the city’s largest green national monument, and organizes programs at the intersection of art and nature. The Veerhuis is an accessible writers’ house for all Rotterdammers who would like to write or learn to write.
