Luna Zegers

Through her music, singer and composer Luna Zegers takes you on a journey through deeply personal stories about her life. These stories are filled with a zest for life and love, loss and longing, melancholy and passion—expect fiery flamenco music with breathtaking vocals!

In this concert, Luna presents a selection from her new musical theater piece “Lorca—Between Light and Darkness,” in which she engages in a musical dialogue with Spain’s most famous poet and playwright, Federico García Lorca. You’ll also hear pieces from her debut album “Entre Dos Mundos” (Between Two Worlds), with which she also performed at the Flamenco Biennale, the internationally renowned festival that brings contemporary flamenco concerts and dance to the Netherlands every year.

Globally, Luna Zegers is the very first non-Spanish person in history to have graduated in flamenco singing from the prestigious ESMUC conservatory in Barcelona, where she received high marks for her graduation concert. Prior to that, she studied jazz vocals in the Netherlands, where she graduated summa cum laude. Luna is accompanied by top guitarist Vicente Santiago on flamenco guitar and Javier Infestas Maderuelo on percussion, both of whom studied at Codarts and now perform internationally in the flamenco world.

The daily newspaper Trouw gave Luna 5 stars and wrote about her previous performance:
“The fiery Spanish flamenco music, combined with Luna’s overwhelming vocals, creates a performance that is truly one of a kind.”

Music magazine OOR wrote in 2025:
“Luna Zegers, the best flamenco singer in our country, makes ‘Traveller’ hit hard with her intense vocals. What a voice.”
