het Park Foundation in Rotterdam is looking for an experienced (senior) marketing, communications and community officer to join our team.

Who are we?

Foundation het Park in Rotterdam takes care of the largest green national monument of the city. het Park, next to the Euromast, the river Maas and in the middle of the city center is 21 hectares in size and designed from 1852 by father and son Zocher. It is a beloved green spot of many Rotterdammers and hosts festivals, sunbathers, walkers, athletes and lovers of peace and bustle.

het Park is the basis, backdrop and outdoor hall of the foundation's program and is much more than an outdoor green space. From het Park Pavilion, soon to open, we tell the story of het Park' s present and past and offer a wide range of cultural and educational activities. From exhibitions and poetry to music and walks. Our goal is to welcome and enable all city residents and park lovers to enjoy this beautiful place.

Our team of gardeners maintains het Park at the highest level. So that visitors can enjoy the forest, lawns, water features, shrubs, special plant borders, the Old Dutch Garden, botanical garden, meandering paths, bridges and the trees.

het Park Foundation was established in 2022 and is still developing. We are looking for an experienced marketing and communications officer (senior) to join our team and position the foundation more firmly in the city and (far) beyond.

What will you do?

As (senior) marketing, communications and community officer, you are the strategic and coordinating brain behind our communications. You develop and execute the communication strategy, set up campaigns and ensure that the foundation reaches a broad and diverse audience. Specifically, you will be:

- Responsible for the communication strategy and its implementation. For this you can call on the knowledge of the team and experts.
- You are the first point of contact for press questions and maintain media relations.
Manages all communication channels, including the website, social media and newsletters.
- Build and promote the Friends of het Park donation program.
- Together with the project officer, coordinates the volunteer afternoons and the Bird Working Group.
- Together with the director, facilitates het Park Consultation, where residents, entrepreneurs and partners discuss het Park.
- Managing external parties such as designers, photographers and writers to develop content and communication tools.
- Widely publicize the upcoming opening of het Park Pavilion so that the entire country knows how special this place is.
- Working with an outside design firm to further develop the foundation's website and improve its information structure.

Who are you?

You are a strategic thinker with a fluent pen who is able to tell the story of het Park in a catchy and inspiring way. You switch effortlessly between strategy and execution and you know how to build a community, both online and offline. In addition, you are:

- Organized, structured and able to set up and execute projects independently.
- Creative and innovative in coming up with communication expressions.
- A networker who easily connects with press, partners and Park enthusiasts.
- Someone with an affinity for nature and culture.
- Flexible and willing to occasionally work outside office hours, for example during events or meetings.

Furthermore, you/are:

- A completed relevant education at at least college level.
- At least 4 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably in the cultural sector.
- Excellent written communication skills in both Dutch and English.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, MailChimp, Google Analytics and Meta (essential).
- Experience with ticket sales systems (Stager), Adobe Creative Cloud and CMS systems (Kirby) is a plus.
